Evaluation
In production of the DVD covers in photography, I feel like I have succeeded on hitting the criteria's that is needed in this project. I have made two origin al DVD covers and two posters which is based on the DVD covers. One DVD is named "Big Jak: The Movie" which is based on comedy; while the other DVD cover is called "Joe: Moulder of Time" which is based on Sci-Fi.
Both DVD and poster styles are in the pop art/cartoon like style to give them more variety of colour and to make them both stand out ad appeal to the eyes of the audiences that the DVD covers is trying to attract. Overall, I think that the pop art like style of the posters and the DVD covers is a good way of making the art look nice and I think that it fits in the genre of the DVD covers. Example I made "Big Jak: The Movie" make it look comical with its style and with "joe: moulder of time" I make it look and feel eerie with the dark background.
I also do believe that I have expressed enough but not too much revealing information of the DVD in the blurb of the cover. I don’t reveal too much to attract audience to find out what will happen in the actual viewing of the movie.
I believe that the outcome of the DVD cover and the posters could be better. Like for one project has a different DVD cover and poster look to make them look and feel original. However, in the other project the DVD cover and the poster are the same image. I feel like they should be different, so it can give the project more of a variety of content and new looks.
Inconclusion, I believe that the DVD covers and the Poster of these two projects have met their criteria's and have nice looking art work applied to them, I do wish I had the time to make an original poster for one of the projects instead or copying the DVD cover and adding a few tweaks to it. But overall, I think it's good enough for this project and I will reflect and look back on these Posters and dvd covers to know what to do and what not to do.
